Sunday saw our spring open and the 1st round of the four man team competition.
There was a great atmosphere at sign on, 71 anglers signed on including 3 juniors . Most made the most of the weather and enjoyed a pint in the sun and some friendly banter between the four man teams before business was under way.
Conditions were fair and with reports leading up to the match of an abundance of dogfish in the area spirits were high .
Blue anchor was the most popular venue , and with good reason! The majority of the fish recorded came from here. Those that opted to fish Minehead town beach were in for a tough time with bites scarce and only a handful of fish caught.
It was very close at the top with only 11cms separating 1st and 2nd and the rest of the top 10 were very close as well.

1st Ben Bradstock , 363cm
2nd Rob Marshall 352cm
3rd Nev Charlesworth 261cm
4th Andrew Dugdale
5th Steve Lidell

7th Tyrone Jones
8th James Redman
9th Wayne Salte
10th Brad lock
Biggest round pool . Bert Ford, conger 85cm.
Biggest flat pool. Ian dancy, sole 30cm.
The four man was equally close and the 2nd leg is going to be very interesting!!
